- How far is the race?
- 30 Kilometres (18.6 miles)
- Why is the event at the end of March?
- Shipping into Hamilton Harbour usually starts early April. The Around the Bay Road Race
takes place the last Sunday in March to avoid conflicts with the lift bridge.
- When is next year's run? Do you organize other running events?
- The Around the Bay Road Race will take place on Sunday March 27, 2011. We do not organize
other events, but we do assist many other races.
- What kind of weather is typical for the end of March?
- The average temperature for the end of March in Hamilton is a pleasant 4°C. Average
rainfall for the month is 51mm.
- Is this event a Boston qualifier?
- No, The Around the Bay Road Race (since it is not a Marathon distance) is an excellent
warm up for the Boston Marathon but it is not an official qualifying run.
- Who receives medals?
- All participants in the 30K, Relays, 5K, and Walkers receive a medal.
- Do you have a walking section for the road race?
- Yes. For the 30k, walkers start one hour before the Running race starts. The walkers start
at 8:30am on Sunday morning. The roads however, are not closed until 9:30am so the walkers must
abide by the rules of the road until the runners catch up to them.
