Package Pickup
All participants are required to pick up their bib number and their ChampionChip™ during the Health and Fitness Expo. The hours of operation are Friday, March 27, 2009 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm and Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 10:00am to 6:00pm. THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION OR RUNNER PACKET PICKUP.
Course Time Limits
The course will close on a continuous pace of 12:00 minutes per km for 8:30am walk start and 10:00 minutes per km for 9:30am 30k run start. Anyone who cannot maintain the 12:00 minute walk or 10 minute run per km pace must move to the sidewalk as the course closes to allow regular traffic through. Runner services cannot be guaranteed for participants beyond the 16:00 minute per mile pace.
Items Not Permitted
The following items are not permitted in the Around the Bay 30k Road Race: pets, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, baby joggers, any other types of vehicles (other than official Race vehicles) or headphones. These regulations are for your safety and the safety of the other participants in the race. Please do not bring or carry any of these items with you. The Around the Bay Road Race reserves the right to disqualify and remove anyone from the course who has any of the above items. Bib Number Requirements
- All registered participants will receive a bib number that must be worn on race day.
- Please put any necessary medical and emergency contact information on the back of the bib number with a pen or waterproof marker.
- Please do not alter the bib in any way.
- The bib must be visible and worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race.
- All Relay participants must wear a 'relay' bib on the back of their shirt as well.
- Bib numbers are non-transferable and must be worn by the registrant to whom it has been assigned.
ChampionChip™ Requirements
- Do not forget your chip on race day: without a chip, you will not receive a time!
- Participants who own their own ChampionChip™ must provide this information on his/her entry form as well as have it verified at Packet Pickup.
- The ChampionChip™ must be secured to the participant's shoe. If the runner carries the chip in his/her hand, fanny pack, etc. the ChampionChip will not be able to record a time.
- Fasten the ChampionChip™ with the strip provided with the chip.
- Each Chip is non-transferable and must be worn only by the participant to whom it is assigned.
- Do not cross the finish line more than once.
- Do not lose the ChampionChip™; a $40 replacement fee will be charged to any participant who fails to return the ChampionChip™ at the finish line.
